2017 marks 500 years since Luther launched the Reformation

Martin Luther nailing the 95 Thesis to the door of the Catholic church

On October 31st in the year 1517, Martin Luther nailed the 95 thesis to the door of the Catholic church in Wittenburg, Germany. This bold act confronted the many unbiblical teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic Church and launched a reformation of the church back to the word of God.

The impact of the reformation on western civilization has been monumental – affecting family, church, government, work, science, art, music and cultural institutions. In celebration and remembrance of the historic 500th anniversary of the protestant reformation, Gospel Applied is airing interviews about the reformation with a fervent prayer that the Lord will put a desire in his church again today for a much-needed reformation in 2017.

  • Impact of the Reformation: The first interview covers an overview of the reformation and its impact with Kevin Swanson, who is pastor of Reformation Church in Colorado. Listen to it below or click here to download:

  • The Reformation Connection: Pastor Matt Trewhella gives some insight into the connection between three notable reformers who God used at different times and different ways, yet all for the same purpose, to show His glory and advance His Kingdom through His word, on earth. (pt. 1)
